Why Do Stains Reappear Through Paint?
Standard decorative paint can be porous enough for persistent marks to return as the coating dries. Water stains and damp can leave discolouration or mineral deposits behind, while nicotine and smoke damage may leave oily residues and odours that are difficult to cover with ordinary paint.
A specialist stain-blocking primer creates a barrier between the affected surface area and the fresh decorative coating. This helps isolate the mark and prevents stains from bleeding through the finished paint.
Severe staining may remain faintly visible after the initial application. If the affected area is not completely covered, allow the first coat to dry overnight before adding a second full coat.
Aquashield’s Stain Block can be used on:
- Walls and ceilings
- Wood and plaster
- Cement, brick and masonry
- Glass and glazed ceramic tiles
- Previously painted surfaces
- Galvanised steel
- Copper and zinc
- Polycarbonate and hard PVC
